Terms of Use

The service

Vocab Companion lets you save words and phrases, get AI-generated explanations for them, review them with spaced repetition, and sync them between your devices.

Your account

You sign in with Apple or Google. Keep access to that account secure — anyone who can use it can use your Vocab Companion account. You must be at least 16 years old.

Your content

The words, context and notes you save are yours. You give us permission to store, process and send them to our AI provider only as needed to run the service for you. You can delete cards at any time, and your whole account by writing to us.

AI explanations

Explanations are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Use them as a learning aid, not as an authoritative dictionary, legal, medical or professional source.

Fair use

Don’t:

• access the service other than through our apps, or automate requests;
• try to get around daily limits or share an account to do so;
• use the service to generate content unrelated to learning vocabulary at scale;
• interfere with the service or other people’s use of it.

We may suspend accounts that do.

Plans and subscriptions

• The free plan includes a daily number of AI explanations. We may change free limits; we’ll show the current limit in the app.
• Pro is a subscription bought through the App Store. Apple charges your Apple ID, renews the subscription automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, and handles refunds under its own rules.
• Cancel any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Pro includes a fair-use limit on explanations to keep the service sustainable for everyone.

Availability

We work to keep the service available, but it may be interrupted for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Capture and review keep working offline; explanations and sync resume when the service is back.

Ending the service

You can stop using the app and ask us to delete your account at any time. If we ever shut the service down, we’ll give at least 30 days’ notice in the app.

Liability

The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses or for decisions made based on AI explanations. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your use of the app.

Law

These terms are governed by Polish law, without depriving you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live.
